“Where the Bluegrass Grows” was the first song Robin wrote on the banjo, after he learned how to play during his convalescence from open heart surgery. The song tells the story of an international bluegrass festival in Winfield Kansas he’s attended since the 70s, which he discovered in 2003 call the Walnut Valley Festival. "I'm goin to Winfield' is what people say when they talk about the festival.

Since 2008, the acoustic, contemporary folk musicians Robin Roberts and Billie Preston have been performing steadily at a variety of venues in Wichita, Kansas and the surrounding regional area.

In January of 2010 they released their CD “Pay-Day Motors“ with fifteen original songs written by Robin. The Duo’s 2nd CD, “LIVE from The Underground,” features new material either written since "Pay-Day Motors," or resurrected from decades long ago.

Robin is from Norwich, Kansas and Billie is from Wichita. They have both been playing guitar and writing songs for decades.
